The journey of Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup in Miss Universe 2011. A look back at her performances, more photos and random thoughts on her pageant experience.
From an underdog and a newbie in the pageantry, Shamcey Supsup is an epitome of hard work and determination. Everything can be learned. For me, the shift from helmets, jeans and sneakers to dresses, swimsuits, make up and high heels is a tough act to follow. While Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup ended the 3rd runner up place in Miss Universe 2011, she certainly out shined other delegates throughout the competition. In the end, she emerged victorious. She is definitely an achiever.
Shamcey was never an early favorite to many pageant experts from different sites. However, this changed upon her arrival in Brazil when she showcased her natural beauty with those candid photos. If you haven’t seen them, check out the photo collection below:

She certainly exceeded everyone’s expectations and eventually won a ticket to the semi finals on her own merit. This is how she showed that tsunami walk and became a front runner against other experienced delegates:
She certainly nailed her preliminary performance. While many are expecting that she’ll only get in through votes, they are certainly mistaken. The fan vote ticket to semi finals went to Portugal. She penetrated the next round through her outstanding performance during the preliminary. Bashers then turned to believers!
Then she went through until the last round. Check out Shamcey Supsup’s performance in Miss Universe 2011 finale night:
